UCS can announce Mick Lovstad has stepped down from his position as Managing Director with immediate effect. Mick will continue to support the company from a consulting role for the immediate future.
 
Paul Kidd takes the role of Managing Director, alongside Simon Close (Sales Director) & Dave Cameron (Operations Director). Pat Copley, the remaining Senior Shareholder continues her position as Company Secretary.
 
The transition has been as seamless as possible, the company will continue with Support & Installation Services to the ICT & TV market.

August 2008 UCS Appointed Preferred Installer for Digital TV for Yorkshire Housing
UCS have been appointed by YH to install the upgrade to Digital TV. The appointment was made via the Northern Housing Consortium Framework agreement. The installation is 2-Wire IRS to more than 2600 units over 12 months.

Feb 2008 - UCS Appointed ICT Provider to East Durham & Houghall Community College
Haden Young have appointed UCS to provide the ICT for the new building. The Solution will converge Cat6a & Cat5e, OM3 backbone supporting HP ProCurve 5400 Series with 10Gb with a Mitel 3300 VOIP system. The completion date is September 2008.

Lord Lawson School implement 10GBe Backbone 08/07
Procurve Networking by HP was utilised to supply the Network Highway to Lord Lawson of Beamish School. The solution carries VOIP, Cashless Catering, IPCCTV amongst common network protocol. Following UCS installation of Cat6 Network with OM3 Fibre Backbone as part of the Gateshead Schools PFI Programme.

UCS Approved by CHAS 07/07
UCS gain CHAS Certification. The CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) certification is an annual assessment of the companies capabilities to meet acceptable standards of health and safety compliance within the Construction industry.

UCS Appointed Partners to Fusion21 11/06
UCS have been appointed Approved Contractor Status to the Fusion21 / Procurement for Housing Framework agreement. The first installation within the programme requires UCS to deliver 1100no. dwellings SKY+ Television across Lancashire (Granada) region.
